SALISBURY SQUARE PLANNING APPLICATION

A planning application for the revised Salisbury Square redevelopment will be submitted in the winter of 2021. The Covid-19 pandemic previously stalled progress towards an application but a workplan has now been established with the aim planning consent is achieved by Spring 2022.

The revised scheme – the focus of an extensive engagement event which was held during the summer of 2019 – represents an opportunity to comprehensively redesign the gateway to Old Hatfield. Following the work already undertaken on Arm & Sword Lane and Dunhams Mews, Salisbury Square is the final piece in the puzzle and we look forward to progressing it.

The scheme will consist of a mixed-use building comprising residential, retail and office space, extensive landscaping enhancements in the Square, and the completion of the streetscape at Arm & Sword Lane. We are presently exploring initiatives to make the scheme more sustainable, with car clubs and shared mobility options in early discussion.

With recent lettings in York House, we remain positive about the future of the Square and will work to curate a mix of occupiers for the benefit of all. When complete, Salisbury Square will be the culmination of many years of effort and will be restored to its rightful stature in the centre of the community.
